Green River Correctional Complex is seeking skilled applicants for Electrician Licensed Supervisor on site at the institution. This position will be in charge of supervising electricians trainees (inmates) performing electrical work as well as performing electrical work of all types.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Supervise electrician staff and inmates involved in the installation and repair of electrical systems, appliances, and motors.
• Inspects electrical wiring and fixtures for defects according to electrical code.
• Checks for violations of current electrical code and reports to proper authorities.
• Determines proper material and equipment for use by subordinates.
• Diagnoses problems with electrical systems.
• Installs and repairs electrical systems, appliances, and motors.
• Keeps records of electrical projects and work time records.
• Inspects work of staff.

The ideal candidate for this position will have good communication skills, planning skills, organizing skills, attention to detail, and decision making skills.

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
