Be an empowered advocate for social justice and support people with disabilities. We provide you with all the training you need to support to individuals with disabilities to live as independently as possible in a variety of settings, by assisting them in developing new skills to reach their goals.

We are looking for a DSP to join a team located in Norfolk in West Ocean View.

The schedule for this position is:

  • Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday 1:00pm-9:00pm
  • Wednesday 12:00pm-9:00pm
  • Thursday 2:00pm-9:00pm

You will be eligible for overtime and shift differentials on the evenings and weekends! We are currently offering a new hire bonus of $500

The wages or this position is $16.03-$19.03 an hour plus these amazing perks below

  • Ability to carry out the physical requirements of this position which include but are not limited to: lifting up to 50 pounds several times per shift as needed, ascending and descending stairs several times per shift, pushing and pulling wheelchairs and sitting, standing, and walking for periods of time throughout a shift as needed.
  • Must have a valid Drivers License.
  • Must have reliable transportation during work hours.
  • Must have a satisfactory criminal history check.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to assist individuals with completing activities of daily living.
  • Experience through education or work history that demonstrates reliability/dependability.
  • Skill to complete satisfactorily: Medication Certification, Medicaid Waiver Certification, First Aid/CPR, Mandt, and other requirements associated with orientation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment.
  • Skill in locating and accessing community resources.
