Job Description
Overview:
The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for entering charges, processing of personal and payer payments, performing end of day balance of office receipts, and generating bank deposit forms.
Responsibilities:
1. Process personal and payer payments daily.
2. Review and send charges to insurance for services performed.
3. Field phone calls from patients/insurance companies and clinics.
4. Perform end of day balance of office receipts and generates bank deposit form.
5. Adherence to compliance and completion of compliance training.
6. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
1. High School diploma, GED/HSED, or equivalent is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. 1-2 years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred.
2. Proficient in basic computer functions.
3. Ability to learn new software quickly.
4. Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
5. Ability to operate standard office equipment.
6. Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred.
7. Must possess attention to detail.
8. Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
9. Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback and direction from supervisors.
10. Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times.
11. Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, and must be compassionate and caring in dealing with others.
12. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Physical Demands
1. Ability to communicate in an active multi-office environment.
2. Ability to efficiently operate all job related office equipment (telephone, computer, calculator, fax, copier).
3. Ability to communicate clearly to patients via telephone.
4. Ability to sit for large portions of a workday.
