Remington Firearms is hiring a Custodian for the Lexington, MO location.

This is a 1st shift position. Standard work hours will be Mon-Thur 6:00 am-4:30 pm.

The Custodian will be responsible for general cleanup of the manufacturing plant and office areas. Responsible for keeping the following clean: bathrooms, floors, production areas, office areas, industrial equipment, lobby, and employee breakrooms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Cleans and maintains entry lobby/offices including dusting, cleaning of window, doors, mopping floors vacuuming carpets etc. Clean and apply disinfectant in lavatories urinals wash basin daily.
• Clean break room including refrigerators, microwaves and tables.
• Pick up trash around plant floor.
• Sweep plant floor.
• Empty and re-line trash cans and put them in the dumpster.
• Report all maintenance repairs to Maintenance Manager.
• Do minor work orders assigned by the maintenance manager.
• Lock out machinery and clean out machinery.
• Ability to operate a forklift and work outside in all types of weather.
• Clean paint spray booths and other manufacturing equipment.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED is required.

• Ability to read English and interpret documents such as safety rules MSDS and product labels.
• Ability to operate standard janitorial equipment such as vacuums, brooms and various cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding and the ability to carry out specific instructions given by management.

Language Skills

• 
  Must be able to read and write basic English.
  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic word documents such as safety data sheets may be required.
• This position needs to be able to read and understand product labels.

Mathematical Skills

• Basic math skills such as addition/subtraction. May have to mix bleach/water and other cleaning chemicals.
• Reasoning Ability
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to plan out their day and handle multiple cleaning tasks.

Computer Skills

No computer work is necessary.

• Must have strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to implement strategic goals
• Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
• Must have the ability to work off a checklist and manage their own workload independently.
