Job Description

Our client is a non-profit fighting human trafficking, located in Olympia, Washington!

Their mission is to engage first responders, indigenous tribes, and other stakeholders in eliminating human trafficking through solution-based knowledge and trauma-informed strategies, and to empower survivors to heal and build self-sufficient, affirming lives.

In the midst of this important work, they are looking to add a Attorney to their team to serve in the role of In-House Legal Counsel.

The attorney will be supporting all legal needs for the organization by preparing documents like affidavits and legal correspondence, organizing and maintaining files, and supporting the org with any additional legal needs such as employee issues or cases.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and will need to be able to multitask effectively. While fully remote, candidates MUST must be licensed to practice in Washington State.
Core responsibilities
Communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, opposing party, and/or third parties
Maintaining client database and client files
Calculating and calendaring case related deadlines
Preparing legal documents, memos, emails, and other written correspondence of behalf of the non-profit organization.
Reviewing and rewriting internal polices to best set up nonprofit going forward
Managing or assisting with substantial components of a broad range of corporate and transactional matters
Qualifications/Skills/Salary
Member of Washington State Bar Association
Proficient in OFFICE PROGRAM: Microsoft Office, TEAMS, Outlook, etc.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time sensitive documents, and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team oriented environment
Previous General Counsel experience preferred
Previous experience with nonprofits preferred
Previous experience with business / labor laws preferred
$40 / hr, fully remote role
