Summary

The Controller will be an integral part of the Company’s Finance & Accounting team. An ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and extensive knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. The Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will regularly interface with members of senior leadership as a primary contact for financial matters.


Responsibilities (IN OFFICE 3 days/week)

  • Manage and monitor all accounts, general ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards as well as requirements from lenders and investors.
  • Ensure all general ledger accounts are reconciled on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis based on determined standards.
  • Maintain internal control safeguards for all matters related to revenue, expenses, department budgets and all expenditures.
  • Working with the CFO, establish and monitor financial and operating benchmarks, budgets and reporting standards on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Manage the annual financial audit including coordinating with the audit firm, respond to all data requests and ensure that the audit is completed in a timely manner.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packets, for distribution to management, investors, and lenders.
  • Responsible for overseeing the filing of all sales and property tax returns monthly (or as required) to ensure accuracy and timeliness and adherence to all state and local tax laws
  • Oversee tax audits (sales/property) including working with auditors to fulfill data requests
  • Work with the tax accounting firm to provide information for the annual federal and state tax returns while also providing data and responses to Members and Member CPAs
  • Responsible for managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing and daily cash management
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 10+ years accounting experience
  • Excellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience in managing and motivating a team
  • Knowledge of corporate tax filings and audits for transaction, income, and property taxes
  • Corporate finance policies and procedures
  • Working knowledge of payroll, billing, and accounts payable processes
  • Experience working in NetSuite or another cloud-based ERP system
  • CPA preferred
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization
  • Strategic thinker with high degree of ethics and integrity
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
