CONFIGURATION ENGINEER

Huntsville, AL

The qualified applicant will become part of Space Launch System (SLS) program, located in Huntsville, Alabama.

Responsibilities:

• Perform configuration control on engineering artifacts
• Support the release of engineering artifacts within an avionics group
• Support real-time problem resolution of issues encountered during release of artifacts
• Work with Responsible Engineers, customer technical staff, suppliers, and SLS teammates to ensure the release process is sound
• Apply standard engineering practices to plan and execute engineering activities within an avionics group

Requirements:

• Ability to obtain a Customer/NASA background check, which requires US Citizenship
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
• Familiarity with common configuration tools (like APDM)
• Experience with configuration management
• Strong communication skills
• Capable of working in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple activates concurrently
• Capable of working with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in System Engineering
• Experience with avionics hardware and software
• Experience with Scheduling

Education Requirements:

• Degree and typical experience in configuration/engineering
• Bachelor's degree
• Five or more years' experience
• OR Master's degree with experience
• Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics

Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.

A Security Clearance is not required.
