Job Description

The Assistant Nutritional Coordinator is a part time position to assist the Nutritional Coordinator with meal preparation, dish washing, kitchen clean up, food delivery, meal transportation and unloading groceries. This person must be able to treat each child and their families with respect, dignity and caring; and be supportive of cultural differences, special needs and different family structures. This position reports and is accountable to and is supervised and evaluated by the Child Care Center Nutritional Coordinator.

This position is subject to a Department of Children and Families background check as per State Licensing Childcare Requirements.

Qualifications

A) Must have experience cooking for large groups of people.

B) Must be 18 years old.

C) Must be able to lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

D) Must be able to use kitchen equipment and appliances.

Specific Duties

A) Meal Preparation

i) Wash and cut up fruits and vegetables

ii) Make sandwiches

iii) Package foods to be sent to other sites

iv) Set up meal carts

B) Dish Washing

i) Wash dishes, pots and pans by hand and sanitize in machine.

C) Kitchen Clean Up

i) Put dishes, equipment, tools away, clean counters, stove, refrigerator.

ii) Keep the kitchen clean, orderly and safe in accordance with state and local health codes to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met.

D) Meal Transportation

i) load food into car and assist with delivery to other sites.

ii) unload food deliveries and put food away when delivered

E) Comply with Red Caboose policies and work rules State Licensing regulations.

F) Interact respectfully with staff, children and families.

G) Other duties that fall within the scope of the job description as assigned by your supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $16.60 per hour
