The Office of Attorney General Daniel Cameron is the chief law office for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, responsible for defending laws and protecting Kentuckians. Comprised of a Civil, Criminal, and Appellate Division, attorneys and staff within the office handle pressing and complex legal matters and represent the Commonwealth’s interest in every area of the law.
The Administrative Specialist III is a highly skilled specialist handling aspects of cemeteries, crematories, pre-need burial contracts for the Registration Branch inside the Office of Consumer Protection. The specialist will perform annual inspections of crematories throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The specialist will enter, maintain, monitor, and evaluate filings using various databases to evaluate applications for licenses and certificates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides professional support to Registration Branch and sellers of pre-need burial contracts, pre-need cemetery merchandise sales, preconstruction mausoleum, underground crypt or columbaria sales, cemetery companies, crematory authorities and crematory operator licenses.
- Enters, maintains, and monitors complex database for compiling information required for reports, registration status, licenses, and certificates. Prepares correspondence under own signature to applicants. Prepares statistical reports as requested. Posts balances and reconciles accounting records submitted monthly and annually. Opens and processes mail.
- Performs annual physical inspections of crematories including security of the facility, viewing equipment, and issuing annual inspection certificates.
- Serves as liaison between Office of Consumer Protection, Registration Branch and other state and federal government agencies, local city and county municipalities, law enforcement agencies, regulated industry and the general public. Monitors industry for trends.
- Reviews consumer complaints and works with Attorneys to resolve and/or refer complaints when appropriate to other agencies. Assist investigations, including testifying in Court.
- Official Custodian of records. Performs duties of archiving and/or destruction of records pursuant to established policy and procedures. Performs other duties as requested, including rotation of coverage East Office receptionist, switchboard, mail Clerk.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Computer literacy, knowledge of Hi-Q
