RAND is seeking an Accountant to perform accounting duties to support the financial transactions at RAND. The successful candidate will perform the day-to-day activities associated with fixed assets including recording and tracking of capitalizing costs, and depreciation. The preparation of roll forwards and associated fixed assets reconciliations. Additional tasks may range from journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, fluctuation analysis, assisting in the preparation of management reports, quarterly/annual financial statements and supporting schedules for audit requests, as well as various other ad hoc projects as requested by management.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience and understanding of accounting transactions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize workflow in an efficient manner
  • Research questions and troubleshoot
  • Knowledge of accounting software packages
  • Advance Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Aptitude to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in non-profit accounting
  • Familiarity with fixed assets
  • Experience with Workday ERP
Education
  • Minimum BS/BA in Finance, Business or Accounting
  • Working toward CPA preferred
Experience
  • 1-year minimum experience related to business / accounting required
Location
Santa Monica – This is a hybrid position requiring the successful candidate be in the office 2 days a week.
Salary Range
$54,700 - $81,400
RAND considers a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the specific role and associated responsibilities; a candidate’s work experience, education/training, skills, expertise; and internal equity. The salary range includes base pay plus RAND’s sabbatic pay (which provides additional compensation above base pay when vacation is taken). In addition, RAND provides strong benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid time-off and more.
