We are now looking for an Account Manager-Industrial Parts Sales to join our amazing team in Chesapeake, Virginia. This role is pivotal in meeting Volvo Penta’s targets concerning customer satisfaction.

What is the Job?
As an Account Manager for Industrial Parts Sales, you will manage outside sales and marketing activities, collaborate with a team of internal and external VPA field personnel, and drive contracted representatives to increase results. This role is also accountable for overseeing the overall performance of the growth and penetration of parts in the industrial segment within various markets, channels, and business partners. Some of your core responsibilities will include:
  • Providing critical insight and contributing to the development of the parts business segment’s strategic plans.
  • Working with colleagues in the segments to establish and develop the highest quality aftermarket network in order to service VPA customers as well as capturing potential industrial parts business.
  • Maintain existing and capture new business through current and newly established distribution channels.
  • Achieving established parts sales and market penetration objectives.
  • Tracks and reports trends, business conditions and account status which will affect future sales opportunities Organizing and conducting parts sales systems training to VPA personnel, sales representatives, OEM customers, distributors, dealers and select retailers.
  • Participating in and supporting various trade shows, dealer or customer events, and company activities and initiatives.
  • Developing and enhancing the dealer online digitalization journey in the industrial segment.
  • Promote a positive culture and live the letter and spirit of the Volvo Group Code of Conduct.

To be successful in this role, you will need an exceptional level of business acumen and marketing expertise, as well as the ability to drive sales strategy and integration. We are looking for someone adept at customer relations management and developing our customers and creating and delivering training to both internal and external stakeholders.

The Basics
As with all our positions here in Volvo Penta, you will need experience with MS Power Point, Excel, Word, and Outlook as well as familiarity with data base programs.

As you will be directly responsible for relaying complex technical concepts and instructions when instructing, excellent communication skills are necessary as is the need for fluency in speaking and writing English to communicate successfully with internal and external stakeholders at different levels of the organization—locally, nationally, and globally.

Also, for this position you should be willing and able to travel a minimum of 50% both domestically and internationally.

Education & Experience:
This position requires the following:
  • Minimum of a 4-year bachelor’s degree in automotive, mechanical engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales and sales management
  • Experience in automotive, Industrial equipment, power generation, or related, and/or industrial parts and accessories, preferred.
  • Experience in automotive or industrial engine sales or service, preferred.
