Interprets written or spoken material into one or more other languages, ensures meaning and context are maintained, creates glossaries or term dictionaries, possesses knowledge of multiple languages, works with individuals and teams.

• 
  Reads through or listens to material in one language, ascertains understanding of the meaning and context of that material, and converts it into a second language, making sure to preserve the original meaning
• Written and verbal fluency in at least one non-English language
• Consults with subject matter experts and other colleagues in order to understand specialized concepts and translate them appropriately
• Consult dictionaries, encyclopedias and terminology compilations to remain educated and current with the meaning of words and phrases
• Analyze audience members and listen to debriefings on what materials will be translated, to best assess how to present interpreted data
• Document changes to translated materials, and maintain an orderly method for filing data for reference later on
• Honor outlined ethical codes to ensure sensitive and confidential information remains secure and protected

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud when on the production floor and moderately loud when in the office area.

Education and/or Experience

• 
  Translation certification
• Excellent communication skills – listening, verbal and written
• Strong computer skills including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database software, presentation software, email and web browsers
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
