Job Description
FPT/Intelinet is seeking a talented Systems Engineer who has strong technical and networking skills. They must be customer service oriented, people first, approach to solving technical problems, are able to shift gears on the fly, and willing to take ownership of issues and see them all the way to resolution. The purpose of this position is to keep the organization’s computer network up-to-date and operating as intended by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
Duties and Responsibilities
General Administration
- General network and systems administration (including backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems including e-mail web server, internet access, office systems and applications support)
- Works with other internal IT teams to integrate new systems and architecture.
- Maintains working knowledge of systems deployed within the NCF environment.
- Participates in after hours on-call rotation.
Active Directory
- Configures, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves problems with Microsoft Active Directory 2019 and Azure AD
- Sets up and maintains DNS and DHCP inside Active Directory
- Performs system administrative functions on an enterprise level WAN MS Active Directory domain.
- Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, enterprise monitoring, and install system wide software.
- Solid understanding of RADIUS and Microsoft NPS
Networking
- Establishes networking environment by installing, configuring, and maintaining network equipment and systems in according with defined standards or best practices.
- Analyzes and designs LAN, WAN, Voice, and Wireless networks.
- Configures and installs various network devices and services (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, WLAN, etc).
- Secures network systems by enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access.
- Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network consultant(s) and vendor(s) on network optimization.
- Solid understanding of IPSEC, BGP, SD-WAN, and 802.11
- Solid foundation in FortiGate, FortiSwitch, and FortiNAC preferred.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Systems Engineer required.
- Fortinet NSE, CCNA, WCNA, VMware Certified Professional 6 - Network Virtualization preferred.
- Direct experience providing technical support to Windows end users.
