About the Position
TJFACT is seeking a Mounted Precision Fire Support Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Army Capability Manager (ACM) Fires Cells-Targeting at Fort Sill, OK. The SME will support the development, testing, fielding, and life cycle management of the mounted fire support platforms to include the BFIST, Stryker, and all future Fire Support Vehicles (FSV) and onboard fire support equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a monthly status report for use by ACM Fires Cells-Targeting, CDID, and FCoE leadership. The status report will include the status of ongoing system production/fieldings, testing, system modifications/ improvements, input from institutional and operational units, critical maintenance issues, determined throughout the month.
  • Capture and document user required capabilities and capability gaps in support of Initial Capability Production Documents (ICD), Capability Development Documents (CDD), Capability Production Documents (CPD) and/or other required Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (JCIDS) documents to support the lifecycle management of mounted fire support platforms as required.
  • Provides subject matter expertise in the development of current and future mounted fire support platform requirements or other Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leader Development, Personnel, Facilities (DOTMLPF) solutions including the integration of future capabilities on mounted fire support platforms.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate mounted fire support platform related integrated product team venues, design reviews, and test events, and develop briefings and communications.
  • Coordinate and staff potential system development/improvements with Product Manager (PdM), Program Manager (PM) Program Executive Office (PEO), Futures & Concepts Center (FCC), Cross Functional Teams (CFT), and the Army staff. The contractor shall update mounted fire support platforms performance and requirements related documents to include Operational Mode Summary/Mission Profile (OMS/MP).
  • Develop/update new mounted fire support platforms tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and ensure that information is prepared for inclusion in relevant Field Artillery manuals and doctrine.
  • Develop proposed future concepts and studies for mounted fire support platforms and technologies and attend and support tests or experiments involving mounted fire support platforms, provide subject matter expertise input and capture and document results that impact the Soldier and FA organizations.
  • Track changes to the Army force structure and provide input into applicable Basis of Issue Plans (BOIP), Army Acquisition Objectives (AAO), and Force Design Updates (FDU) affecting mounted fire support platforms and units.
  • Prepare and submit weekly significant activity report and exsums of key events to ACM Fires Cells-Targeting.
  • Provide a trip report associated with TDY travel by 3 days upon completion of travel.
  • Provides input capturing mounted fire support platforms history for the year into the COR (annual requirement).

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience as an Army 13F (Fire Supporter) or 13A (FA officer) with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in either an ABCT or SBCT as a Staff Sergeant/Captain or above.
  • Must have served as a Forward Observer or part of a Fire Support Team (FiST) and have extensive knowledge on Fire Support Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP).
  • Must be able to develop and deliver briefings to Army and Industry senior leaders on mounted Fire Support topics and field questions thoroughly with the ability to reference personal experience.
  • Are expected to work with materiel developers, operational units, other Army Capability Managers, Test Officers, Research, Development and Engineering Centers (RDECs) and HQ DA Staff to ensure mounted precision Fires systems meet user requirements and provide needed capabilities across the force.
  • Must be self-motivated, team player, and can work with limited direction/guidance at times.
  • Must be willing to enroll and take acquisition classes through Army distance learning.
  • Willingness to learn and understand the acquisition process as it pertains to fire support sensors.
  • Must be sufficient in MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge and familiarity writing IAW with Army Regulations
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments and meet quick deadlines.
