General Description:

We are looking for an Intern to make significant business contributions standardizing pre-construction planning, construction field QA/QC activities and documentation, project scheduling and development of standard business processes and reports. This position demands strong technical and communication skills as your work will involve collaboration with several departments within the organization. Based on the level of experience, interns will be expected to present their findings in a technical presentation and report at the end of the internship. Over the course of the internship, you'll learn about how EDPR develops, builds, and operates wind and solar farms. You will also gain valuable skills that form a foundation for a career in renewable energy.

This is a paid 10-week, full-time internship that will start on or around June 5, 2023, with an end date of August 15, 2023.


Main Accountabilities:

  • Support technical teams in the planning and execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects
  • Standardize construction field QA/QC documentation
  • Review project schedules
  • Assist in the standardization of documents and exhibits for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Agreements
  • Learn about equipment, design drawings, and design specifications
  • Identify either operational or technical inefficiencies and propose solutions to management in a presentation at the end of the internship
  • Participate - in and contribute - to project team design reviews
  • Assist onsite field team with solving a variety of problems
  • Support the development of standard business processes and associated reports
  • Interface with different stakeholders both internally or externally
  • Perform ad-hoc forward-looking analyses on performance, schedule and cost(s)
  • Additional duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate (Sophomore or Junior) or graduate student pursuing a degree in an analytical discipline such as Engineering or Construction Science
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Other database and programming knowledge is an asset
  • Experience with database software (e.g. SQL) a plus
  • Experience with construction management software (e.g. Procore) a plus
  • Demonstrated interest in renewable energy

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
  • Computer Literate: Able to type and use technology efficiently and effectively
  • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
