Job Description

Overview:

Tyler Pipe & Coupling, a division of McWane Inc., is seeking a Staff Accountant to work at the Marshfield, MO location. The Staff Accountant will assist in the accounting functions of the plant as well as assist the Plant Controller. Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries
Reconcile financial statements
Review general ledger accounts
Reconcile balance sheet accounts including cash accounts
Responsible for assisting the Controller in month-end closing and preparing journal entries
Process and review accounts payable
Review purchase price variance
Review Freight Expense and Track shipments leaving the facility
Manage fixed assets
Compile data and prepare a variety of reports as needed
Investigate questionable data
Recommend actions to resolve discrepancies
Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance. In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of relevant experience will be considered
3-5 years accounting or business-related experience, preferably in manufacturing
Understanding of Financial Statements, Journal Entries, and GAAP
