Summary of Position:
The Sr. Operations Associate will be responsible for providing analytics of department KPI’s, and overseeing the enhancement and implementation of department processes, procedures, and operations as it relates to student, graduate, and employer outcomes. This position will work professionally and collaboratively with team members and other key stakeholders within the department in support of efficiency enhancements. The Sr. Operations Associate reports to the Director, Career Services Operations.
UMA is a nonprofit healthcare educational institution with a national presence. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content-rich, interactive online programs as well as hands-on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional:
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports.
- Provide recommendations for business process improvements to senior leadership based on analysis of department data and outcomes.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Develop and implement data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize efficiency and quality within the department.
- Controls business operations to meet customer expectations and company goals, with a specific focus on support roles such as Corporate Alliance, Externship/Registration, Graduate Success, and the Articulation Team.
- Create process documentation, workflows, and standard operating procedures for the department.
- Implement process improvements that help drive overall efficiencies with institutional KPI's, including placement, employee retention, and survey feedback.
- Manage internal change management and communication for all process improvements within the department.
- Monitor, measure, and provide feedback on process performance through use of data analytics.
- Supports the Director of CS Operations with internal reporting needs and partnering with the UMA BI team.
Compliance:
- Demonstrates knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the Department of Education, accrediting agencies, CIE, and internal UMA policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicates compliance requirements to students and other staff as appropriate and quickly escalates any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
Work Experience, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Analytics, or Finance, or applicable experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in an analytics role.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working across various functional groups such as HR, IT, Sales, Finance, etc.
- Experience in providing data analytics and reporting.
- Intermediate proficiency in business computer technology and tools. Specifically, MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication skills; able to communicate both verbally and in writing at all levels of the organization and with outside customers
- Fluent English – Written and Verbal.
- High energy, entrepreneurial self-starter who works well in a complex, fast-paced, demanding and constantly changing environment.

Preferred Requirements:
- Master’s Degree.
- Experience with SQL coding/Power BI.
Working Environment:
- Ability to work full-remote, on-site, or a hybrid attendance model.
- Ability to travel as required – up to 5% travel.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Requires long periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
