YOUR LIFE AS A SPEECH THERAPIST

This full-time specialist position with our speech therapy team works during the day.

As a Speech Therapist with our human services nonprofit, you work at TOTS, our children's development center. You have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children who are in need of assistance. You evaluate communication skills including, receptive language, expressive language, articulation, voice, fluency, oral-motor skills, and hearing. Once these skills have been examined, you develop a comprehensive service plan according to program policies and regulations. Speech therapy is provided as outlined by each individual treatment or education plan for communication disorders. At our human services nonprofit, you maintain professional standards in and out of the center to remain in compliance with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Code of Ethics. Attending IEP meetings, staffing, case conferences, and department meetings is essential to this speech-language pathologist position.

Working in this role, you instruct and counsel clients, along with their families regarding the nature of their communications impairments. Patiently, you help them understand how to best deal with this in various speaking situations during speech therapy. As a functioning case manager, you maintain appropriate records such as progress notes and reports, evaluations, plans, case conference reports, and discharge summaries. You track insurance authorizations when applicable and assist in coordinating and obtaining other needed services for clients. You also supervise clinical fellowship years for other speech-language pathology staff when appropriate. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Master's Degree or equivalent in the field of Speech and Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association OR be in clinical your fellowship year
  • Current State Speech-Language Pathologist License
  • Covid-19 vaccination
