Job Description
- This position is responsible for participating in and overseeing the operation and maintenance of the internal and external facility systems. This includes the installation, operation, maintenance, modification, construction, and protection of physical facilities and equipment used to support the facility activities.
- This position is responsible for ensuring that the Preventive Maintenance Program is in place and followed for all affected equipment. Responsibilities also include compliance with all federal, state and local laws as such apply to OSHA, environmental air quality control requirements and hazard/waste control requirements.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the PM program and working with engineering to establish a program for equipment where a program does not exist.
- Overseeing the training and performance of facilities technicians and janitors in the areas of:
- Cleaning schedules
- Scheduled equipment servicing
- Lawn and lot care
- Compactors, balers, pallet wrappers, shipper tapers, conveyors, and work furniture
- Office moves and office equipment preparation and placement
- Heating and Air conditioning
- Water, compressed air, fire protection
- Plumbing
- Fork truck Servicing
- Overseeing the supplies inventory and related processes.
- Working with engineers to coordinate internal facilities related projects.
- Take ownership of any new equipment coming into the plant. A Tech 2 will be assigned primary responsibility for any new equipment and work closely with the engineering, contractor to understand and prepare the plant for the new equipment.
- Oversee the outside contractors when they are on-site.
- Other duties as assigned by the facilities supervisor (to include overseeing the facility in their absence).
- Oversee the facilities work order process
The pay range for this role at the noted location is $20.00 to $21.50 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay. - The position requires close vision ability to include lateral and vertical vision, depth perception, and ability to distinguish colors and ability to adjust focus.
Required Experience
- The incumbent must possess a High School Education and/or equivalent, two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A certification in any facility system(s) would be a plus.
- Experience working with engineering concepts, construction blueprints, and electrical/mechanical diagrams.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office personal computer software; specifically Google, Excel, Word, and the Internet.
- A plus would be having experience with: HVAC equipment, small equipment repair, and/or plumbing and electrical.
