Legrand
has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cost Accountant to join the Focal Point Lights Team in Chicago, IL.

What Will You Do?
Cost Accounting
  • Updating and improving the company’s cost accounting model and procedures (based on standard costs), including relevant databases
  • Leading periodic cost rolls (including the coordination of labor routings updates in the ERP system, in collaboration with the operations team)
  • Analyzing variances and identifying areas of operational improvement
  • Supporting work center set-up and new finished goods part cost rolls
  • Reviewing Work Orders statuses in the ERP system (inc. investigating and resolving issues)
  • Assisting the business teams in product costing
  • Providing budget input and support for operations-related costs

Operations-Related Accounting Activities
  • Managing the monthly close cycle with respect to all operations-related items (manufacturing costs, fixed assets, inventory, freight, quality costs, product warranty, etc.)
  • Analyzing inventory account balances (month end reserve, review of adjustment accounts, standard vs. actual analysis, etc.)
  • Maintaining the fixed assets register and capital expenditure trackers, booking depreciation

Operations-Related Projects
  • Supporting the Supply Chain team in the coordination of cycle counting and the yearly physical inventory
  • Providing costing inputs for critical investment cases, and related requests for approval
  • Supporting process improvement and cost reduction opportunities, including productivity initiatives, buy vs make, etc.

Operations-Related Reporting and Analyses
  • Contributing to the periodic reporting and analyses of operations KPIs, internally and to the corporate headquarters
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Five (5) years of progressive accounting experience, of which at least three (3) years of standard costing experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Must be available for extended, varied work hours based on business needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CMA
  • JDE Enterprise One experience
  • Knowledge and experience in support of Lean Manufacturing
