Job Overview:
The Senior Cloud API Developer is involved in all stages of API development, implementation, and management, including front-end development, back-end development, data modelling, cloud integrations, and working with a team of junior developers. This individual will have a strong focus on AWS, data models, and API development. They will influence the department's strategy, make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approaches for project components, and work without direction. They will exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement cloud-based APIs, with a focus on AWS and data modeling
Lead a team of junior developers in delivering a coordinated set of APIs across Master Data Systems (Advisor, Investor, Account, Market Data) and the Transaction and Position Books and Records
Develop scalable and maintainable applications using modern cloud-native technologies
Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions
Write automated test cases to ensure the correctness, responsiveness, and efficiency of the software product
Provide expertise to influence project, initiative, and maintenance technical direction during discovery, planning, and implementation stages
Maintain modern development standards with best-practice approaches and development processes

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience
7+ years of experience as a Senior Developer, including designing and implementing complex systems from scratch
5+ years of experience working with AWS, data models, and API development
Full-stack developer with 5+ years of experience designing applications, developing web services (REST/SOAP), and integrating with vendor APIs
5+ years of extensive web/service development experience with technologies like: .NET, JAVA, JSON, RDS, Node, MVC, C#, Python, Javascript/JQuery, HTML, CSS
5+ years of experience working with source control tools like TFS, GIT, etc.
Core Competencies:
Demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills
Organized and able to coordinate technical deliveries across multiple teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Motivated and driven by achieving long-term business outcomes
Capable of effectively planning, prioritizing, and executing tasks utilizing resources and tools
Preferred:
Experience with Swagger, MDM tool like Informatica
Experience with databases like Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server
Agile development experience
