Microsoft is world-class at creating deal value from it's Mergers & Acquisitions transactions. Microsoft's Divestitures, Acquisitions, and Ventures Accounting (DAVA) team supports both internal and external transactions related to acquisitions and divestitures. DAVA is uniquely positioned to advise, plan and execute policy alignment, purchase accounting, integration/separation management and reporting to enable seamless compliance. As a Senior Accounting Manager in DAVA, you will be asked to thrive with us in ambiguity and find your balance within an irregular tempo. You will provide end-to-end accounting support from early finance and accounting integration planning efforts to the many milestones leading into the Microsoft planned integration model.
Your responsibilities are primarily related to (i) accounting integration planning and management for acquired companies and (ii) accounting execution of month/quarter end activities related to purchase/sale accounting, consolidation of acquired entity results and post-close intercompany transactions including deconsolidation or legal entity termination. This opportunity will allow you to have immediate impact, develop business finance acumen across Microsoft's segments and hone in on the delicate art of relationship and expectation management in a compliance-first culture. Flexible work opportunities are available.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

You will interpret reports and records for managers/stakeholders and provide support and troubleshooting to users.
- You will prepare critical, internal quarter end reporting deliverables and support drafting of external disclosures and underlying financial statement impacts of acquisitions and divestitures. You will partner with business partners and provide audit support, as needed.
- You will research accounting standards, document guidelines and policies, and track FASB (Financial Accounting Standards Board) projects for impact to existing policies and practices. You will help to field complex questions from business partners in alignment with accounting policies and drive policy alignment for acquired entities. You will propose policy updates to leadership.
- You will participate in workflow process design sessions with acquired entity accounting and finance teams, and partners with leaders to update processes. You will perform gap analyses and help design and implement financial controls, as needed. You will contribute to process-improvement efforts for accounting integration by proactively collecting and reviewing business partner and team feedback and incorporating industry best practices.
- You will proactively and effectively drive the accounting integration workstream in partnership with all-level stakeholder groups including Corporate Development, Microsoft Acquisition & Ventures Success (MAVS), Corporate Finance & Services (CFS), acquired entity accounting and finance teams, Microsoft Tax and Microsoft Global Treasury & Financial Services. You will activate Microsoft company values across the M&A ecosystem and drive with an ownership mindset.
- You will dynamically tailor accounting integration milestones and timeline to overall Microsoft acquisition integration plan requirements despite ambiguity and phase of the integration.
