The Scheduling Coordinator will coordinate and schedule surgeries, post-op appointments, surgical clearances, pre-admission testing, procedures, diagnostic testing, and referrals. In addition, this person will obtain insurance authorizations and provide patient education.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in a clinical or health care setting
Ability to maintain a high standard of customer service and observance of organization protocol
Ability to maintain team-orientated relationships with managers, physicians, and other clinical staff.
Demonstrated ability to anticipate issues and suggest strategies to address and/or improve those issues.
Highly organized and meticulous about details.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Solid understanding and knowledge of medical terminology
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of two years of scheduling experience
NextGen experience
Knowledge of CPT, ICD9, ICD10 codes
