The Research Assistant will work closely with SPE faculty and staff on research projects covering a broad range of topics, including population studies, family change, social psychology, mental health, reproductive health, aging, attitudes and behaviors, human-environment interaction, statistics, public policy, information science, public health, and new social science research methods. The Research Assistant will engage in projects that study populations from diverse regions of the world, with special focus on the United States and South Asia.
The program in Society, Population, and Environment (SPE) is seeking a Research Assistant to assist in ongoing research projects and proposal preparation. The Research Assistant will conduct a wide range of research-related tasks, including assisting the team in the preparation of research papers for academic publication and proposals; creating data tables, figures, and graphs to visualize data for research papers and proposals; conducting literature searches; proofreading manuscripts and proposals; checking references; and supporting the creation of flyers, presentations, and other visuals for webinars and conferences. The Research Assistant will largely review written content for readability, grammar, and punctuation, and may also help prepare data for release to the public, such as writing study descriptions and creating documentation files.
The Research Assistant will ideally work 5-20 hours per week on a schedule mutually determined by the Research Assistant and SPE staff. The pay rate for this position starts at $18 per hour, pay commensurate with experience.
