Hartford Hospital is one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitalsin New England. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center that provides cutting edgetreatment to its patients. This is made possible by being home to the largestrobotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education,Simulation and Innovation (CESI), one of the most-advanced medical simulationtraining centers in the world. TheMedical Intensive Care Unit is a 12-bed unit that provides care to patientswith a wide range of complex, highly acute medical issues. These issues includebut are not limited to; respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, liverinjury/failure, kidney injury/failure, sepsis, and drug and alcohol withdrawal.Under the supervision of a Critical Care Pulmonologist, the unit is staffed 24hours-a-day with a team of Physician Assistants, Advanced Practice RegisteredNurses, Registered Nurses, and medical house staff physicians consisting ofinterns and residents.

Inthe Medical ICU, our goal is to develop our staff into well-rounded, highlyskilled medical professionals. The unit will push you to your limits as youwill be working in a fast-paced environment where your critical thinking, vastmedical knowledge, clear communication, and your extensive skillset will bechallenged and grown.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required).
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire.
• Minimum one year acute care RN experience strongly preferred.
• In exceptional circumstances, Registered Nurses with an ASN/ADN who are currently in pursuit of a BSN or MSN may be considered.
• Graduate Nurses are encouraged to apply through the Critical Care Graduate Nurse Program.
