TheMedical Intensive Care Unit is a 12-bed unit that provides care to patientswith a wide range of complex, highly acute medical issues. These issues includebut are not limited to; respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, liverinjury/failure, kidney injury/failure, sepsis, and drug and alcohol withdrawal.Under the supervision of a Critical Care Pulmonologist, the unit is staffed 24hours-a-day with a team of Physician Assistants, Advanced Practice RegisteredNurses, Registered Nurses, and medical house staff physicians consisting ofinterns and residents.


Inthe Medical ICU, our goal is to develop our staff into well-rounded, highlyskilled medical professionals. The unit will push you to your limits as youwill be working in a fast-paced environment where your critical thinking, vastmedical knowledge, clear communication, and your extensive skillset will bechallenged and grown.

Qualifications

  • Current Connecticut RN License.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required).
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire.
  • Minimum one year acute care RN experience strongly preferred.
  • In exceptional circumstances, Registered Nurses with an ASN/ADN who are currently in pursuit of a BSN or MSN may be considered.
  • Graduate Nurses are encouraged to apply through the Critical Care Graduate Nurse Program.
