Company Info: Guardian Construction Company is a family owned and operated underground utility and restoration contractor located in New Castle, DE since 1976. We are a full service general contractor working with both private and public entities in the state of Delaware consisting of but not limited to gas, electric, asphalt and concrete restoration, ,erosion control, grading, excavation, pavement removal, traffic control, patching and pavement of all sizes, shapes and thicknesses. The candidate we seek for Project Manager/Estimator with experience in underground utility including gas, electric and water work to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in project management and cost estimation, as well as the ability to work with a team collaboratively. As a Project Manager/Estimator, you will be responsible for sourcing projects, developing project plans and tracking timelines, budgets, and cost estimates.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost estimates
  • Oversee project progress and ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget
  • Coordinate job planning and tracking with superintendents and subcontractors
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans as needed
  • Prepare project reports and communicate project status updates team
  • Ensure project compliance with regulations, permits and safety standards
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and timelines

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or 3 years’ experience in construction management, engineering, or a related field
  • Preference givent to experience as a project manager/estimator in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Experience in cost estimation, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in project management software such as Microsoft Project or others
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of construction regulations, permits, and safety standards

*Preference given to experience in underground utility work including gas, electric and water.
