The Opportunity

This position is a remote role in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We’re focused on helping people with diabetes live life to the fullest by providing products that deliver accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

As a Sr. Program Manager IV (R&D Technical Program Management Team), you will be leading the development of web applications, cloud services and data sharing tools that empower our diabetes care products. You will take strategic input from leadership and create development plans which define the scope, activities, and execution timing for product launches. You will be leading development team of professionals from Quality, Regulatory, Systems Engineering, Test and Dev Ops through the full life cycle of development. Along the way you will use your technical skills and experience to improve the way we work together and how are products are maintained.

What You’ll Work On

  • Manage stakeholder relationships, gather feedback, and ensure product meets expectations.

  • Assess market competition and provide data for product line communications.

  • Make trade-off decisions for conflicting priorities and ensure high-value items are delivered first.

  • Introduce and market new products through collaboration with sales, advertising, regulatory, and production teams.

  • Assist in support, and enhancement of software products, processes, and features.

  • Collaborate closely with teams on new features, ensuring business and customer needs are met.

  • Participate in prioritization and backlog of feature requests and act as a primary contact for technical teams.

  • Stay up to date on competitors, related AWS products, and market trends.

  • Ensure clear communication between development, sales, marketing, regulatory and management teams.

  • Communicate product development program status to development teams and ADC management.

  • Balance product investment, performance, and time to market issues to meet ADC goals.

  • Provide the forum to facilitate communications, problem solving, and goal alignment between operational and commercial organizations prior to and through product launch.

  • Work with functional leadership to determine and ensure appropriate resource availability and assignments.

  • Generate, manage, and direct ADC product development launch plans for multiple programs within a market segment.

  • Manage regular review meetings, at various levels, with project teams representing R&D, Operations, QA/RA, Marketing, and Commercial areas.

  • Hold management reviews with Senior ADC management to communicate program development and schedule status.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required.

  • 10 years of relevant experience with a BS/BA degree or 8 years or more of relevant experience with a MS/MBA/MA degree.

  • Strong, Proven background of managing complex projects.

  • Experience managing project budget and cross functional teams.

  • This position requires the ability to collect information from multiple sources, sort through, integrate, and resolve often conflicting requirements, and drive an organization through the various issues to result in a successful product launch.

  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting medical devices (e.g. QSR regulations, ISO13485).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Product Manager or similar role, preferably in the cloud services or SaaS industry.

  • Experience in medical device (SaMD) environment is preferred.

  • Proven experience overseeing product development lifecycle.

  • Highly effective cross-functional team engagement.

  • Ability to create visual representations of product requirements (mockups, prototypes, etc.)

  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and services (e.g., AWS).

  • Understanding of enterprise-level software design and products.

  • Familiarity with the full software development life cycle (e.g., Scrum and Kanban)
