Produce Buyer

Monday-Friday

The Buyer is responsible for developing and maintaining core supplier relationships. Buyers will source food products needed, obtain quotes, negotiate prices and place purchase orders for materials required to reach production goals. Buyers play an integral part in the achievement of on time delivery, quality, productivity, and inventory goals.

JOB DUTIES

• Purchase produce, fruit vegetables, perishables
• Handle items with an expiration date
• Initiates quote process with suppliers, evaluates supplier bids, and participates in price negotiations
• Maintains purchase order updating delivery dates, prices or other required supplier information
• Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, cost, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
• Executes purchase order cancellations and resolves invoice discrepancies
• Places orders for submitted purchase requisitions
• Review orders for accuracy, pricing, and delivery
• Prepares reports, plans and updates metrics as required

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma required
• Minimum of 3+ years of procurement/purchasing experience
• Food and beverage experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (v-lookups experience highly preferred)
• Advanced to expert level negotiation and problem-solving skills require
