As a Community Development Officer II, you will be within PNC's Community Development Banking organization. You will be based in Charlotte, NC

PNC’s Community Development Banking is a team dedicated to improving low-to-moderate income neighborhoods and the quality of life for low and moderate income people. We focus on meeting community needs through community development loans, investments, financial education and other technical expertise. PNC provides nontraditional capital for high-impact development projects and provides capital for reinvestment into local businesses. Examples of community development include affordable housing, funding for services that meet community needs, economic development projects that create or retain jobs for lower income people and neighborhood revitalization projects. We work with not-for profit and for-profit developers to address those needs.
This role will be responsible for going out into the community, learning the needs of low-to-moderate income (LMI) communities and families, while working to bring PNC's brand and core values to meet those needs. This candidate will also work with Senior Leadership and the Regional Presidents to encourage employees to become engaged and interested in serving on nonprofit boards.

Job Description

Leads business development activities with new and existing LMI clients to grow PNC sales, revenue and market share by working closely with nonprofit organizations. Interfaces with senior leadership within current and prospective client organizations to position the value of PNC and secure mutually beneficial partnerships. May mentor, coach and onboard team members and serve as subject matter expert. Responsible to work with branches and non-profit organizations that serve LMI customers, community development and community based organizations.
Build strong relationships with branches who service LMI areas and/or families by educating branch managers on their role in assisting PNC in meeting our CRA goals. Work directly with non-profit organizations to deliver financial education to their LMI families/communities and act as a key referral source by connecting them to our Retail and Business Banking partners.
Manage Community Development grant and sponsorship requests to ensure the greatest impact for both the communities in which we serve, and PNC.
Coordinate and administer LMI programs across the footprint, including Individual Development Accounts (IDA), PNC School Bank programs and Foundation Checking, while also providing financial education via train the trainer sessions to PNC employees and non-PNC facilitators.
Provide CRA database support by capturing all CRA-eligible PNC employee service activities, recording activities in the CDB service database, and working with Relationship Managers (RM) to identify loans/investments that are likely to be closed/booked for entry into the CRA database.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
