Shift available: Full-Time
Monday thru Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
Payrate: $21.00 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Communicating with customs brokers and other individuals involved in international shipping to ensure that all documentation is accurate
- Reviewing shipping documents such as bills of lading, manifests, and other paperwork to ensure that they conform to legal requirements
- Coordinating with customs agents to ensure that shipments are cleared through customs in a timely manner
- Processing customs paperwork including filing entry forms, collecting documentation from importers, and filing customs declarations with the appropriate agency
- Communicating with foreign customs agencies to obtain information about import regulations and procedures in order to comply with U.S. Customs laws
- Preparing customs declarations and filing them with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) or other government agencies
- Reviewing records to determine if goods have been shipped or received from countries known to be involved in smuggling activities
- Coordinating with carriers to ensure all documentation is in order, including bills of lading and invoices, before releasing shipments from customs custody
- Consulting with importers to determine what documentation is required for specific products being shipped from abroad
Main Job Functions:
- Resolve and process all related customer inquiries
- Answer inbound calls & emails in a professional & timely manner
- Organize delivery appointments
- Assist the operations team
- Data entry from various sources (paper, image, phone and/or email)
- Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers
Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED required, College degree preferred
- Knowledge of customs regulations and/or Import/Inbound experience (Required)
- Knowledge in the transportation industry preferred
- Knowledge and experience with ACE portal
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suites
- Ability to multitask is essential
- Ability to work Independently as well as with others
