Job Description

Direct Lumber and Door is looking for a Junior Truss Designer. This position is for someone who is energetic and likes a fast-paced environment. Your focus will be creating layouts for roofs for residential and/or commercial buildings using digital drawings and 3-D drafting software, with a high level of accuracy.

Essential Functions:

  • Developing truss layout designs using MiTek SAPPHIRE software.
  • Communicating and collaborating with Engineers when necessary for specific design requirements.
  • Interpret construction plans, building supplies plans and information, apply these files for quotes and Production.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Specific Job Skills and Qualifications

  • Graduate from an architectural, civil or construction engineering technology, construction work re-arrangement program is preferred but not required, experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience in the construction and/or truss industry is preferred but not required.
  • MiTek SAPPHIRE software experience is an asset and preferred.
  • Revit experience is an asset and preferred
  • Extremely meticulous.
  • Functional math and computer skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent professional work ethic
  • Must have a cheerful outlook and be a team player to support the team with deadlines.
  • Have a creative mindset and be able to think outside of the box.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
