Job description for pre-college summer intern:

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is a premier technology integrator in the technical, engineering, intelligence, and enterprise information technology markets. SAIC develops and integrates advanced technologies during the entire life cycle of fielded Army aviation and missile systems, including air and ballistic missile defense, fire support, close combat, manned and unmanned aviation, command, control and communications; interoperability, intelligence/surveillance, and automatic test equipment.

High School student for general duties during summer break 2023:

A summer worker is needed to help set up, organize, and maintain a technical work area at one of our Huntsville, Alabama locations. Must be able to follow instructions and work with minimal direct supervision.

Typical Duties:

• Assemble racks, benches, and shelves.
• Assist movement of equipment into place.
• Organize raw material storage area.
• Organize tool storage.
• Assist in development of work procedures.
• Maintain clean work area.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School and one year or more of college coursework in a technical field.

• Familiar with Microsoft Windows and MS Office (desired)
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and customers.
• Must be motivated, adaptable, flexible, and able to produce quality results in an evolving, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

U.S. citizenship required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Little to no knowledge of the job. Moderate understanding of general job aspects and some understanding of the detailed aspects of the job. Applies job skills and company policies to complete a wide range of tasks.

Supervision Received: Close supervision involving detailed instructions and constant checking on work performance.

IMPACT: Errors can be easily and quickly detected within the immediate work unit and would only result in minor disruption or expense to correct.

LIAISON: Contacts are primarily within immediate work unit. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information requiring little explanation or interpretation.
