The ideal candidate will conduct outreach to targeted audiences including education organizations, in promoting/sustaining facility visitations, as well as coordinating with other PSE departments, and with corporate programs/initiatives.
This is a unique opportunity to support the Snoqualmie Falls Hydroelectric Project, Puget Sound Energy's oldest power-generating operation and the world's first completely underground power plant. More than a century after its construction, the facility still produces clean, cost-effective electricity for the region. In addition, the hydroelectric project's public park and trails have for decades been one of the Pacific Northwest's most popular scenic destinations, drawing approximately 2 million visitors annually to view the majestic 270-foot waterfall. This summer internship will welcome visitors and set the tone for the visitor experience with an emphasis on education and safety. The intern will provide tours, presentations and implement/interpret facility educational materials and exhibits. There will be opportunities to learn Puget Sound Energy’s history and deliver authentic and consistent information relative to PSE history and role in the community. There will also be opportunities to host special visitors and public officials when required.
The start date will be dependent on intern availability, but generally lasts between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The hours of operation for the museum are Wednesday through Sunday, 9:30 AM to 5 PM.
The pay range for this position is $25,200.00 - $69,400.00. This position is not benefits eligible.
