Summary

Stonewood School North is now hiring assistant infant teacher to work in our licensed program located between the towns of Shelburne and South Burlington. Our school currently holds a 4 Star rating, is a prequalified preschool program under Act 166, and is a specialized care provider. We will be working towards a 5 Star rating and NAEYC accreditation in 2022-2023

Our center currently has 5 classrooms, and over 60 children enrolled. This position is for a Infant assistant and start date is immediate or as soon as possible. Children's ages range from 12 weeks - 10 months. We are seeking patient, compassionate, and experienced professionals to support this group of young learners.

Ideally Applicants will have at least one year of experience working with children, and at least 3 college credits in a related field (psychology, sociology, education, or social work). Associate's degree in early education definitely a plus, but not require.

If applicants do not meet these requirements, we are willing to work with the right candidate if they are interested in taking college coursework and have experience working in a childcare or preschool setting.

  • Care and education for all children enrolled in the preschool program
  • Curriculum implementation and general classroom routines
  • Communicating effectively and working to support all families

Requirements

Teacher Assistants are required to:
  • Have at least one year of professional experience with toddlers or preschool age children (6 weeks to 2 year olds)
  • Have at least 3 college credits in early education or a related field
  • Or - be willing to take a college class within the first 12 months of employment with support
