Legrand
has an exciting opportunity for a HR Training Specialist to join the Kenall Team in Kenosha, WI. This position is responsible for the development and management of training solutions at Kenall. Involves conducting needs analysis and creating training opportunities to address the development needs of employees at all levels. Responsible for the maintenance of the established Kenall training system as well as Legrand’s. This position will also be responsible for the documentation and storage of training records as well as maintenance of our production Skills Matrix and Learning Management System. This position will also be responsible for the administration of our Worker’s Compensation program.

What Will You Do?

  • Assess training needs through consultation with managers and interviews with employees.
  • Design, conduct or coordinate training programs ranging from production level technical skills to leadership and development programs in the Kenosha Manufacturing Facility
  • Deliver training programs across the Legrand Lighting sector, five business units across the U.S.
  • Maintain Training Records and administer the company Learning Management System.
  • Develop or source training materials as needed.
  • Support Legrand’s annual training target goals by providing training opportunities and tracking progress. Create monthly reports for Lighting Sector so we can measure progress against the goal.
  • Continue the development of internal trainers (Train the trainer)
  • Facilitate quarterly Production Leadership Development Forum (training meetings) with the company’s front line leaders
  • Partner with local community colleges/technical high schools to:
  • Develop training curriculum customize to our needs
  • Provide an academic bridge to out-of-school students
  • Build our brand within the community
  • Work with all levels of the organization to support personal development plans as created during the performance management process.
  • Act as the Performance Management administrator. (TOHM)
  • Facilitate the sustainment and continuous improvement of the Company’s training program.
  • Manage the Learning and Development budget and the Tuition Reimbursement program.
  • Ensure all new-hires complete initial safety training and onboarding.
  • Liaison between employee and insurance company for Worker’s Compensation. Keep detailed case records.
Qualifications:
CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in Organizational Design/Development, Education, Human Resources or related field.
  • 2+ years of training experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with the administration of a Worker’s Compensation program is a plus
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills. Hands-on; must be able to conduct training sessions when needed.
  • Ability to use a variety of learning/training concepts, knowledgeable in adult learning theory.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills; bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Detail oriented and strong organization skills needed.
  • Able to efficiently work with cross-functional teams. Ability to handle issues and resolve problems in a respectful, tactful way.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility around changing priorities and schedules.
  • Able to adjust schedule when required. (2nd shift training as needed)
  • Ability to manage, prioritize and balance multiple tasks.
