Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide patient education on disease prevention and health promotion at clinical settings
- Support the development and adaption of health education materials in variety of formats, such as prints, social media, group workshop
- Assist in planning, developing, and implementing of community health education activities
- Participate in community events including health fairs and other events to promote health practices in the community
- Assess education needs from patients and communities, maintains accurate records of educational activities and prepares project reports
- Translate documents and materials to/from English and Chinese as needed
- Support the Health Education and Engagement team in special events and projects
- Work/travel between Manhattan/Chinatown and Queens/Flushing sites required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Public Health, Behavioral Science or related field
- Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English preferred
- Excellent communication and counseling skills
- 1-3 years of experience working in a health-related field, preferably in the Chinese and/or Asian American community
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), preferred but not required
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $50,000.00 - 55,000.00 per year
