Solid Java/C# Developer Needed at a Leading NYC Hedge Fund (Consultant)

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid - 3 days in office)
Compensation: TBD, This is a contract position. You will sign a consulting agreement and be paid a per diem rate.

Mazuma Software is a small technology consulting firm specializing in systems development for the hedge fund industry.

WE NEED YOU:

We are searching for the right candidate to join us at our primary client: a large, technologically progressive hedge fund in midtown Manhattan. We are looking to bring the right candidate on board to help deliver the highest quality software systems. This candidate will be a rock solid, mid- to senior-level developer who has the ability to work independently and adapt to the environment as it evolves. The right candidate takes pride in his or her work and possesses excellent problem solving and communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on core Java and J2EE web application development
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of C# experience
• Experience with the Java Enterprise stack (e.g. EJB, JPA, JSF) is required
• Expert SQL knowledge and development with any of the RDBMS platforms
• Experience Designing/Building Web Applications and APIs
• Front-end development experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, and software development best practices
• Experience with Hibernate or other ORM technology
• Experience using build tools such as Maven and Ant
• Write clean, tested, and well-documented code
• Contribute ideas for new features and identify areas for improvement proactively
• Collaborate effectively across teams, including outside of engineering
• Deliver the highest quality technical solutions with efficient time-to-market
• Participate in full life-cycle software development
• Relevant academic degree in computer science or a quantitative field

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

• JBoss J2EE technology stack: Seam, RichFaces, Hibernate, etc.
• JBoss 4 application server
• MSSQL RDBMS
• Experience in building end to end web applications using .NET/Java, HTML, SOAP/REST API and SQL
• Financial applications experience, such as accounting and treasury systems, is a plus
• Experience in modern MVC web frameworks

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: From $600.00 per day

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
