Title: Fairbanks Summer Intern
Core Purpose: Introduce participants to nonprofit operations, event organizing and provide opportunities for community engagement.
Terms of Employment: Seasonal, Part-time Position (20-30 hours/week, includes wellness time)
Compensation: $18.00 per hour
Timeframe: May-August 2023, program length 2.5 months
Location: Fairbanks office
Direct Report to: Creative Space Development Lead
Summary
Native Movement is looking for two (2) summer interns based in Fairbanks, Alaska. This new program seeks to introduce participants to how Native Movement operations take place, participate in collaborative event planning, and deepen relationships with the community within the social justice and grassroots organizing spheres. These positions would ideally start in early June (mid-may is also an option) and the positions would end in mid-August (negotiable). Internes will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with Native Movement staff and build their skillset as leaders in the community.
Program Goals
Gain basic understanding of how Non-Profits function
Participate in project and/or event organization
Increase personal social justice movement network
Duties
Tabling/Information support
Assist with merchandise: inventory, mailing, organizing, and packaging
Assist with NM raised garden as scheduled
Inventory and record office supplies
Assist with storage space organization
Shadow NM staff members based on interests and staff availability
Candidates must live in Indiana or Kentucky. 8+ years of Networking, and 2+ years of Pre-Sales, experience. Ability to travel up to 25%.
Provide personalized, one-on-one instruction to students in the comfort of their own home. Create lesson plans and instructional materials to meet the needs of
Assist video editor/acquisitions in editing and preparing video for newscasts as assigned, using server-based editing and playback system.
3+ years of Production Home experience. $75k-$90k Base + $20k-$25k annual bonus (can be more depending on how many homes are built).
