ProxsysRx is currently recruiting for a Prescription Department Manager for our brand new outpatient pharmacy at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to practice outpatient pharmacy in a model that integrates the pharmacy into the patient care transition model. The Prescription Department Manager ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for a single pharmacy, compounds and dispenses prescribed medications, and directly manages all professional and support staff.
Responsibilities
- Reviews prescriptions issued by Physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
- Compounds medications, using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, if applicable.
- Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.

- Directs pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals,
- Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals,
- Actively engages patients and clients with respect to program integrations offered by the pharmacy,
- Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs,
- Instructs pharmacists and other pharmacy personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy, and maintains correct pharmacist to technician per state and federal law,
- Maintains awareness of third party-party systems and resolves rejection problems promptly, resubmits rejected claims for payment on a timely basis,
- Reports prescription errors immediately and adheres to company policy regarding medication incidents,
- Maintains awareness of loss prevention controls and procedures to identify and minimize profit loss,
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with physicians and other health care professionals,
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws including interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
- Minimum of 2 years of retail pharmacy manager experience.
- Current licenses in good standing to practice pharmacy in the state of Florida.
- Ability to supervise pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Excellent customer service skills.
