Job Description

1.1 year experience providing preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services to adults according to Florida Statute 466.023 including scaling and root planing, prophylaxis, making digital x-rays, periodontal probing, application of topical agents, and oral health & nutrition education following planned treatment from record.

2. Ability to accurately document services provided in an electronic oral health record and follow Department’s data security and confidentiality policies.

3. Ability to maintain infection control including use of an autoclave.

Others: Knowledge of medical and dental terminology. Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others. Ability to review and assess health information. Ability to triage suspected dental conditions.

4.Florida Dental Hygiene License, CPR certification

5.Experience providing dental hygiene services to adults living with HIV

6.Provide preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services including scaling and root planing, prophylaxis, periodontal probing, and oral health & nutrition education following planned treatment from record.

7.Make digital x-rays. Accurately document services provided in the electronic oral health record.

8.Maintain infection control including use of autoclave to sterilize instruments.

9.Participate in any dental quality assurance meetings.

10.Comply with the Department’s data security and confidentiality policies

20 hours per week (2½ days, selectable Mon. – Fri., can be 5 half days if desired).

Hours of operation 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Dress code: Scrubs
