Responsibilities:

  • Proactively collaborate with key stakeholders in building, sustaining, and improving the capability to prepare for, respond to and recover from crisis incidents.
  • Develop a risk register of hazards that may impact Abbott’s business and work with crisis teams and other stakeholders to identify potential impact and mitigation action.
  • Assists with the strategies, oversees the development of plans, and manages the execution/exercising of these plans to achieve a high level of overall company crisis preparedness and effectiveness.
  • Develop, plan, and deliver Crisis Management training via virtual training platforms as well as instructor-facilitated sessions.
  • Plan, develop, and facilitate comprehensive Crisis Management exercises to evaluate response capabilities.
  • Leading and influencing in a matrix environment across the organization, using sound judgement, successful execution, and an understanding of how to operate effectively across diverse business teams.
  • Provides operational support to business units during business disruptions.
  • Ability to respond immediately to a crisis that might occur during a regular business day, after hours and on weekends and holidays; Occasional evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays are required.
  • Generate regular and annual compliance reports, metrics, and trend analyses.
  • Conduct post-crisis action reviews, identifying best practices, opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead the development of engaging and shareable content of crisis management awareness materials for internal audiences.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice.
  • Position is a manager position.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years demonstrated leadership in programs at global or enterprise level.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience across crisis management and/or emergency response disciplines
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with project management
  • Hands on experience in incident and crisis management
  • Situational awareness and responding to incidents that pose a threat to company, property, data, or people.
  • Creation of metrics, reporting and analysis

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Power BI.
