Airport Catering Drivers are responsible for building and transporting all galleys to the clients' specifications for all scheduled flights. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with time constraints to meet arrival and departure goals. A professional and positive image must be consistently displayed by the employee. The "Lead by Example" concept is strongly promoted.
Airport Catering Drivers must report to work on a regular and timely basis and will report directly to the supervisor and/or manager on duty. Job Duties • Build/strip commissary according to airline specs and schedules within established timelines • Actively participates in the Safety Management System (SMS) • Complete inventories according to airline requirements • Understand and comply with IATA Food Safety requirements • Actively participate in Sky Café's Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations. Understand, comply with and promote the Company Safety Policy • Responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the warehouse at all times • Assist in set up, cleaning, and storage of equipment & warehouse • Responsible for courteous, prompt, accurate, and careful handling of food and goods, including loading and offloading • Receive, perform temperature testing and inspection of catering deliveries from our food service provider • Operate forklift while observing safe procedures and maintenance of equipment, including the performance of equipment checks • Comply with all Sky Café and airline policies • Transport, load and unload the aircraft galleys from the warehouse to the aircraft • Constantly communicate with other catering personnel, and respective airline communication centers if applicable Coordination and oversight of aircraft turnaround activities • Ensure that processes are delivered within SLA standards and compliance limits while adhering to safety requirements • Responsible for the safety and security of all employees • Performs other duties as required Requirements: • Be at least 18 years of age • Possess a valid driver's license • Obtain a clear criminal record • Ability to obtain necessary airport vehicle operators permit • Must be capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 70 LBS. on a regular basis • Ability to work within the required time parameters • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules • Must successfully complete airline specific training programs and re-certification Core Competencies • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently • Operate equipment in a safe and respectful manner • Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines • Attention to detail in all areas of work • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Salary: From $16.00 per hour Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Life insurance • Vision insurance Day range: • Holidays • Weekend availability Experience level: • No experience needed License/Certification: • Driver's License (Required) Work Location: One location
