Job Description

Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications based in Milwaukee, WI. We are seeking a 1st shift Assembler for our Stockton, CA plant. The Assembler is responsible for ensuring a high quality product for our Customers. This role is responsible for assembling and testing of all pumps and maintaining the assembly area and keeping tasks on time to make sure floor operates in a productive manner. **Full COVID-19 vaccination is required as a condition of employment.**


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Read and follow assembly prints, routers, specifications and other instructions in order to build and assemble parts and pumps in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Operate overhead crane and fork trucks while moving and assembling product.
  • Prepare parts for assembly.
  • Pick and assemble parts and pumps to meet Customer requirements.
  • Review and verify accurate bill of materials to maintain inventory integrity.
  • Follow all quality and safety standards and procedures.
  • Assist other departments to ensure products are completed on time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand assembly prints, measuring instruments, and other manufacturing instructions.
  • Must be familiar with portable hand tools and machine tools such as impacts, portable lathes, etc.
  • Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.
  • Requires a good work ethic and mechanically inclined.

Education/Experience

  • Not required, but preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand at work bench for the majority of the shift.
  • Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, and depth perception.
  • Ability to stand, walk and reach above shoulders.
  • Ability to lift/move parts and/or packages of various sizes, up to 50 lbs.
