Your Role

The Performance Operations Analyst will serve as an expert in data analysis, data transformation, and formulating recommendations while working in tandem with internal and external stakeholders to create actionable performance insights. They will work under the Manager, Performance Operations to design and conduct analyses that leverage claims data, quality reports, practice EHR data, and other data sources as appropriate. They will work in cross-functional teams to clarify key performance and tactical questions facing the market teams and bring data to inform strategic and tactical decision making. They will also be tasked to help package internal and external materials to help guide stakeholder meetings and drive performance agendas forward. The successful candidate will have experience with health care data sources, including claims, strong critical thinking and programming skills, and a passion for the intricacies of value-based care. They will ideally have proven experience with simplifying complex data and packaging in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word documents. Experience with value-based contracts or Medicare is especially valued.


Primary Functions of the Performance Operations Analyst Include:

  • Design and execute insightful analyses to identify opportunities to improve care delivery, support population health, and explain partner performance trends.
  • Package data and materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with colleagues in Field Teams, Finance, Health Plan, and other domains to develop and clarify business questions, think critically about solutions, and contribute to cross-departmental performance efforts.
  • Provide analytic and data source guidance to stakeholders on initiatives to improve proper diagnosis documentation, monitor attribution, and address other business priorities.
  • Work with teams across Honest to identify implications of analysis results and translate findings into action.
  • Present analysis results to internal audiences.
  • Create and publish periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

How You Qualify

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Excellent quantitative analytic abilities with an emphasis in public health, finance, actuarial science, or related fields
  • Experience in value-based care and Medicare and/or Medicare Advantage policy, plan operations, data, and financial methodologies
  • Experience with HCC or other risk models is a plus
  • Ability to clearly communicate and escalate issues to management.
  • Knowledge of Medicare ACO data sources, especially CCLF
  • Experience with CMMI government programs (DCE, ACO REACH, MSSP, etc.) preferred
  • Deep experience with health care data sources such as payer claims, electronic health records, event notification, clinical, and patient reported data
  • Advanced data manipulation skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct nuanced analyses to produce accurate and unbiased results and tell the story of those results in data visualizations and reports
  • Knowledge of standard methods for measuring health care utilization, spending, quality, and outcomes; risk adjustment; provider profiling; and related analytical tasks
  • Experience with quantitative analysis, grounded in epidemiology, biostatistics, econometrics, health informatics, health care analytics or related field
  • Exceptional attention to detail and data quality assurance; ability to validate results and investigate abnormalities or unexpected results
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing deadlines and priorities
