Overview:
We are seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant to further strengthen our Accounting team. This position will report to the Accounting Manager of the Aviation Division. The Senior accountant will be responsible for managing a portfolio of client accounts that will be accomplished by supporting the month-end close process and the preparation of monthly financial packages. In addition, the Senior Accountant will work closely with our Operations team and assist in finance and budgetary related projects and analyses.

Responsibilities:
What you’ll do
Responsible for the timely reporting of financial results through involvement with the month-end close process and the preparation of monthly client statements in accordance with the lease and management agreements. Verify the accuracy of reported balances through the completion of account reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries for month end close meeting strict closing deadlines.
- Complete account reconciliations and analyze general ledger activity including Balance sheet and P&L.
- Manage a portfolio of clients that involves the preparation of monthly reporting packages and/or payments according to contractual terms.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all required account reconciliations.
- Assist with location specific audit engagements.
- Work closely with finance and operations team to answer questions and support the business.
- Review of client receivable accounts and assist in explanation and follow-up of past due balances.
- Participate in periodic forecasting activities and annual budget process.
- Complete ad hoc projects as requested.
Qualifications:
What you need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Five plus years of professional accounting experience.
- Knowledge of computer systems and solid PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel; AS400 experience a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to review financial/accounting statements.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively across departments and upper management as well as external clients.
- Excellent research and problem solving skills.
- Detail-oriented, well organized, self motivated with ability to multi-task.
- Independent worker able to meet deadlines without reminders.
- Willing to take ownership of assignments and responsibilities.
- Willingness to travel for business, approximately 5-10%
